VICTORIA CALDER
Inspired by the countryside, creating colourful reflections on the world.
Victoria Calder draws inspiration from the local countryside, her native Scotland and from her travels around the UK and abroad to create semi-abstract colourful paintings in both Oils and Acrylics for the home or office environment where bright and contemporary works are the order of the day.
In addition to landscapes and seascapes in varying sizes, Victoria intersperses her work with fun and colourful still life paintings detailing items from everyday life and items that catch her eye.
Working outdoors where the weather permits or sketching and returning to paint in her home from those sketches and reference photographs – it is the unusual or the overlooked areas that mostly attract. Wild and remote places tend to predominate in her work.
She exhibits locally through a variety of galleries and exhibitions in the south of England and Scotland and participates in the West Berks and North Hants Open Studios each year in May. Ever happy to discuss individual commissions for work on personal projects and can discuss these where a painting is required of a precious place or happy memory.
